About Our Ministry

Grace Student Ministry(GSM) welcomes students in the 6th – 12th grade that are from all backgrounds and walks of life. We desire to encourage your student to be a Christ follower, worshiper, and a lover of God’s word. Your student will always walk away challenged.
For more information contact the Student Ministry at 512-564-0901 or check out Grace Student Ministry on Facebook.
We want Wednesday nights at GSM to be a way for students to reach a deeper fellowship with God and each other in order that they might have a greater impact for His kingdom.

Welcome to 2020!!

“I am making everything new!”
Revelation 21:1-8

A New Heaven and a New Earth

1Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth,” a for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ b or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”5He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”6He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7Those who are victorious will inherit all this, and I will be their God and they will be my children. 8But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Have you read this?!  It is located in the book of Revelation, the very last book of the Bible, which is a book of prophecies- telling us what is to come. If we believe the Bible and everything it says to be true, then this is exciting news. I think we should read it again.  No, seriously.  Read it again. J

There are a lot of things the Lord shares with us in this passage of Scripture.  He is telling us that He has a plan for both the heaven and the earth (and everything in them)!  He is not worried or taken by surprise by anything that happens here on earth. Which means we don’t need to be worried either.  He has got this!  Our job is to rest in Him, trusting that He has good things in store.

Many of us have experienced some very hard things in our lives.  We have seen loss, pain, and rejection.  This verse clearly tells us that our Heavenly Father sees all of it and will someday, “…wipe every tear from their [our]  eyes.” (v4).  I want to encourage you that you are loved, you are wanted, and you are seen by the Creator of the Universe. If we have asked Jesus into our hearts and become new creations, we are His. Nothing can separate us from His love and that gives us a peace that passes all understanding. We have hope in Jesus.

** This month we are working on memorizing a verse from this passage.  If you can memorize more- even the entire thing- that would be great! We are starting with:

5He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Revelation 21:5

There are many ways to memorize Scripture.  An easy way is to simply write it down on a piece of paper.   Tape that paper somewhere you will see it frequently (like on your bathroom mirror or next to your bedroom light switch).  If you have a phone or computer, you can create a screensaver with the verse and try reciting it every time you open your phone or computer.

As you work on memorization, remember that this exercise is meant to draw you closer to the Lord.  Talk to Him (pray) about what you are reading.  Think about it (meditate) as you go about your day- during a test, as you ride around, when you are lying in bed, going to sleep.  Lastly, talk to someone about what you are reading and learning about the Lord.  May He bless you and keep you as you grow in Him.
